Comment by G. Kakiopoulos: Otiorhynchus (Ergiferanus **) pedinorrhynchus Petri, 1928 ** The original description of O. pedinorrhynchus by Petri (1928) matches perfectly to the specimens here. But Petri compares it with some species from the subgenus Lolatismus (they don’t match…). The proposed synonymy with O. olympionicus Lona, 1943 [Cooperative catalog of Palaearctic Coleoptera Curculionoidea, 2017], I think is completely wrong. Lona describes an entirely different species. The subgenus Ergiferanus also does not fit at all. I have tried repeatedly to find the correct subgenus for this insect, but it is really difficult. Now I’m vacillating between Anchorrynchus (most likely) or Rusnepranus and Otismotilus (very unlikely).
